Marietta Municipal Court to Resume Operations Tuesday
Marietta's municipal court will resume on Tuesday with changes such as requiring a mask, health screenings, assigned seats and more.
MARIETTA, GA — Beginning Tuesday, the Marietta Municipal Court will begin gradually resuming court operations. There will be a reduction in the number of cases scheduled, people will be required to sit 6 feet apart while in the courtroom and there will be s brief health screening upon entry.
The changes will be in effect through June 30th unless extended through additional court orders.
The number of cases has reduced from 150 to 38 per session.

The court will also be implementing protective measures for visitors and staff, including sanitizing the courtroom between sessions and providing hand sanitizing stations.
A brief health screening will be conducted upon entry into the building to include temperature reading with a touchless thermometer, and a series of questions. Under the following situations will individuals be given another court date:

- If their temperature is 100.4 or higher.
- If they or a member of their household is immune compromised.
- If within the last 14-days the individual or someone in the household has experienced COVID-19 symptoms, tested positive for COVID-19 or are awaiting test results or they have traveled to or from areas where COVID-19 is particularly active.
People can expect the following changes:
- Separate entry and exit doors
- Masks or face coverings will be required to enter the court room.
- Queue lines with floor markings to maintain 6 foot distancing
- Health screening followed by normal security screening protocols before entry into the courtroom.
- Individuals will also be provided with a care package containing a new ink pen, gloves and forms that may be needed during their court appearance. The care package will also contain a specific seat number assigned to the visitor.
The court strongly encourages visitors to provide their own face mask or cloth covering, but will have masks available.
Customers still have access to a drive-thru window which is available for payments and to process continuances to another court day.
