ATLANTA (Oct. 23, 2014) – Dr. Jeannette Anderson, PT, DHS, MTC, local Marietta resident and director of clinical education at Mercer University, received the 2014 Outstanding Physical Therapist Award from the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG). The award recognizes an exceptional Georgia physical therapist, who is actively involved in bettering the physical therapy profession through selfless service.

Anderson was nominated for her extensive contributions to the physical therapy profession in Georgia and the admirable professional achievements she has made throughout her illustrious career. Her work in clinical education has promoted a healthy relationship between Georgia clinics and hospitals. Aside from Anderson’s professional accomplishments, she actively serves in various community initiatives. Her dedication to students extends beyond just the classroom, as she continues to be a mentor her students and peers well after graduation. She also volunteers, providing pro-bono physical therapy services at Good Samaritan Health Center in Atlanta and Farm Workers Family Healthcare Program in Moultrie.

Criteria for the Outstanding Physical Therapist Award are based on a candidate’s promotion of the physical therapy profession and being active in the district, through community and legislative service. Eligible applicants are nominated by a specific selection process and are later voted on by both the PTAG Award Committee and Executive Committee.
