Marietta Schools Salute Social Workers

School social workers work daily to address barriers to learning, and they support teachers as they prepare students to be college and career ready.

Marietta City Schools celebrate National School Social Work Week, March 4 through 10, and salutes school social workers Kristin Hanfland, Adrienne McGahee-Jackson, Milena Skollar and Valarie Stinson.

“Our school social workers serve as a link between the school and home, and they provide a vital service to promote the academic success of all students,” said Dayton Hibbs, MCS Assistant Superintendent for Operations, Technology and Assessment, in a press release.

“Social workers utilize the resources of the community to meet the needs of students and their families. We encourage parents and community members to take a few moments during National School Social Work week to thank their School Social Worker,” Hibbs said in the release.
