Marietta Single Mom Receives New Home From Habitat for Humanity and Windsong Properties
Local mother receives a newly built home in Acworth to accommodate her family's needs.

Single mother of two, Josephine Odura, is receiving an Acworth home that she and her family can grow into. In 2003, Josephine moved to the United States from Ghana through a lottery program where she met her husband. After he returned to Ghana, she and her two children moved to Georgia in search of a fresh start. With her daughter about to enter her teen years, she knew the 2 bedroom apartment where she and her brother share a room couldn’t last much longer. That’s where Habitat for Humanity and Windsong Properties stepped in, to build a home for this deserving mother. The home will have 3 bedrooms so that each family member will have their own space.
The build will take place on October 28, 2017 at 6021 Kemp Drive, Acworth Ga from 8 a.m. -3:00 p.m. With North Central Georgia’s Habitat for Humanity and the help of sponsors and volunteers from local active adult homebuilder, Windsong Properties, the family will move into their new home by the end of the year. Windsong prides itself in looking for ways to give back to the metro-Atlanta community and knows their experience and prestige in homebuilding will help provide local families in need with the homes they deserve.
