Marietta Student Killed In Crash Laid To Rest: Report

Liv Teverino was killed after her car hit a tree and caught fire in Marietta.

MARIETTA, GA — The family and friends of a Marietta High student who died last week in a crash held a funeral for her Monday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Atlanta News First reported.

Liv Teverino, a junior, was killed in the crash around 5:30 p.m., Sept. 18, in the area of Burnt Hickory Road near Devonwood Trail after her car crashed into a tree and caught fire, Marietta Police previously said.

"People who knew Teverino said she was a scholar, athlete and community leader," Atlanta News First reported.

Marietta City Schools announced Friday the "Live Like Liv" scholarship, honoring Teverino.

"Liv embodied the spirit of Marietta High in every way,” MHS Principal Marvin Crumbs said in a past news release. “Her dedication, passion and kindness were evident in every endeavor she undertook. She will always be remembered as a beacon of hope and inspiration for our students."
