McEachern Memorial Announces an Over-the-Top Underground VBS
Looking for a fun Vacation Bible School for the kids this summer? MMUMC is giving a new meaning to "Cave Quest"!

Powder Springs, GA, June 10, 2016 – Starting on July 10th- July 14th, an estimated 400 children from the community will come together for McEachern Memorial UMC’s week-long Vacation Bible School from 6:00–8:30 p.m. Approximately 180 volunteers will work before, during and after the VBS, to ensure a successful event that is complimentary and open to the public. MMUMC will also offer a convenient snack supper from 5:00-6:00 p.m. nightly that week for $3.00 per person. All children who are 3 years old to completed 5th grade are welcome to join the adventure. The church is also prepared to provide VBS for all friends who require special needs.
“Our community offers families several summer VBS options to choose from. What makes MMUMC’s unique—in addition to all the fun—is that there’s an equal importance on assisting the kids to build a spiritual foundation and love for Christ. The combination of our continual activity rotation, our incredibly caring staff and volunteers, makes our VBS a positive life-changing experience for everyone involved,” said Jackie Gibbins, Children's Ministry Director, McEachern Memorial UMC.
This year’s theme is “Cave Quest”—a theme that loudly and enthusiastically conveys that Jesus is the light of the world and that God has a unique purpose for each and every person. The fun-filled week will feature KidVid Cinemas, deep bible quests, music, an Imagination Station and Spelunker sports and games! Each day the children will learn one bible point, which is reinforced through bible adventures, key bible verses, songs and hands-on activities that help the kids understand about God’s powerful provision, comfort, healing, forgiveness and love. On the last night, families of the children are invited to attend a VBS grand finale comprised of songs, skits and more!

“There is nothing more fulfilling then watching the children enjoy singing the songs and getting excited about each activity. My goal for this year’s VBS is to bring the love of Jesus to those that don’t know or understand what it means accept that forever love. We are encouraging the community to support us by spreading the word of our unique event in order to have another record-breaking VBS,” said Gibbins.
