Starbucks is ... well, you know ... pretty much everywhere.

Next to water, tea is the most consumed beverage in the world. In 2014, Americans consumed more than 80 billion servings of tea, or more than 3.60 billion gallons. Approximately 85 percent of the tea consumed in America is iced. Ready-to-drink iced tea has spiked over the past 10 years with sales estimated to be more than $5.2 billion.

In 2003, a Georgia state representative from Atlanta, John Noel, introduced a House bill proposing that all Georgia restaurants that serve tea be required to serve sweet tea. It was done apparently as an April Fool’s Day joke. Noel, now president of Energy + Environment, is said to have acknowledged that the bill was an attempt to bring humor to the Legislature but wouldn't mind if it became law.
