Neighbor News

Owenduff had traveled over hill, over dale, through bush, through briar ... only to be picked up by Animal Control and deposited in a county shelter. Now it is Furkids that is on an adventure to find Owenduff a forever home.

Adopting is a rewarding experience for everyone, especially the animals. Please consider saving a life today!

Landing in a county shelter wasn’t the adventure Owenduff had in mind when he set out on his journey. Fortunately for all of us, Furkids pulled him from that facility just in the nick of time. Now he is ready for a new journey, the one that leads straight to his forever home. In the meantime, Owenduff is living in a foster home and his foster family says he is a joy to be around and a great dog. Here are just a few of the things his family says about him: when you call his name, he’ll come running; he likes to be with you and will search the house for you; his schedule fits very nicely with yours, but it takes just a couple of days to figure out his surroundings; he loves kids and is gentle with them; he is very easy going and gets along with other dogs; he’s housebroken; and he sleeps in his crate at night and is very quiet so you can sleep, too!

Since Owenduff is about 4 years old, his adoption fee is $275 unless you have a senior or military ID, then you get an extra 25% off! Furkids adoption fees for all dogs include the following: Bordetella vaccinations, a heartworm test, deworming, microchipping, flea treatment, and spaying or neutering, along with any other necessary medical care prior to adoption. Apply now to meet Owenduff at Furkids.org or email dogadoptions@furkids.org with questions.

Furkids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization that operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and a no-kill shelter for dogs. At these locations, animals experience the best care in a loving, safe environment until they are adopted into forever homes. The Furkids mission is to help end pet overpopulation in Georgia through sterilization, high-quality adoption and by providing valuable spay/neuter services and pet care education to people in the community.
