Pastor Facing Sex Charges Found Dead in Marietta

Marietta, GA -- The body of an Indiana pastor accused of soliciting sex with a minor was found inside a Marietta storage unit on Monday.

David J. Brown, 46, former senior pastor at the First Christian Church in Jeffersonville, ID, was accused of traveling to Kentucky to have sex with a minor.

According to Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear, Brown was arrested on June 16 and charged with one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system for the purpose of procuring a minor for a sex offense.

Brown became the subject of an undercover investigation after he allegedly corresponded through the KIK messenger application and email with an undercover officer posing as a minor. Brown allegedly requested the undercover persona engage in sex acts with him. Brown traveled to Frankfort, KY, to meet the undercover persona where he was arrested.

According to Cobb Police Spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce, Brown's body will undergo an autopsy to determine cause of death.
