SIMPLE NEEDS GA BOWLING EVENT TO BENEFIT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN NEED.
--Bowling outing on Sept. 28 will raise money and collect donated items for three programs geared toward uplifting the lives of disadvantage
MARIETTA, Ga. (9/01/2014) — Attention, bowlers! Simple Needs GA (SNGA) is offering an easy and fun way to help children and families in need. Just come to the nonprofit’s annual bowling event on Sept. 28 at AMF Marietta Lanes.
“It doesn’t matter if you tend to bowl strikes, gutter balls or something in between,” said SNGA founder Brenda Rhodes. “This is a great way to contribute to a worthy cause. You could even win a new iPad Mini in our silent auction!”
The money raised from this event will go to support three SNGA programs that benefit children and families: My Birthday Matters brings new birthday presents to disadvantaged schoolchildren as well as homeless kids living in shelters. Shoe Them Love helps families buy new shoes for children who might otherwise have to wear hand-me-downs. Simple Household Needs provides cleaning supplies and other household necessities to needy families, thereby helping them uplift their surroundings.

“If you’d like to take part in our raffle, come early—ideally by about 1:30—and bring new birthday presents such as sporting equipment, art kits or books for elementary-aged children,” said Kasey Litt, SNGA board member and My Birthday Matters coordinator. “Another option is to bring $25 gift cards to Payless Shoes or Walmart for Shoe Them Love.”
Those who donate will receive raffle tickets that put them in the running to win prizes ranging from new golf shoes, to photographic prints, to gift cards from retailers such as The Home Depot. “Tickets will also be available for sale at the event so you can increase your chances to win,” Litt said. “We also have some big ticket items like an iPad Mini that we will be auctioning off to the highest bidder!”
The funds raised for these programs will help promote self-worth and a sense of dignity for children who deserve the best in life, but whose families often face tough challenges, Rhodes said. “The best part is, this will be a lot of fun, too!”
