Snow, Snow Go Away?

Snow falls upon Marietta once again, yet this time it doesn't stick as much. Wondering if it is a welcome wintry delight or a fluffy nuisance tops The 5 Things today.

1. So through the night it snowed again and accumulated less than an inch as it blanketed the ground but did not stick to the streets. No panic in the stores or in the schools as all remain open for business. Is Marietta Patch the only one breathing a deep sigh of relief?

2. Cobb Commissioner Helen Goreham of District 1 will hold a town meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the West Cobb Senior Center at 4915 Dallas Highway. For information, call 770-528-8200.

3. The Retired Military Association of North Georgia meets at 2 p.m. today at the East Cobb Senior Center at 3332 Sandy Plains Road. For information, call 770-565-7499.

4. Cobb County's has scheduled a therapeutic swim class for individuals 16 years of age and over who have special needs. The class will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Visit this page for more information and registration.

5. Here's another weird official day for y'all: Be Electrific Day. Apparently, it was devised to honor the birth of Thomas Alva Edison and his numerous electric inventions, including the light bulb. And it has expanded to become a day to recognize our own "body electricity." I suppose that must mean rubbing your socked feet on the carpet and giving a friend or colleague a nice static shock.
