Son Arrested, Charged With Murdering His Father In Marietta

Daniel Walden Attaway has been charged in the shooting death of his father, whose body was found this past weekend.

MARIETTA, GA -- Police have arrested a man in the shooting death of his father. On Tuesday night, Marietta police arrested Daniel Walden Attaway, 24, for the murder of his father, Douglas Wayne Attaway, 59. Daniel Attaway reported finding his father shot to death in the basement of his Marietta home over the weekend. But police now believe Daniel Attaway shot and killed his father.

Daniel Attaway was booked into the Cobb County jail Tuesday night and charged with murder, aggravated assault with the intent to murder, and possession of a weapon during commission of a felony.

Police were called to the Hardage Farm Drive residence around 4:30 pm on Sept. 29 after Daniel Attaway called 911. He said he had just entered the residence home and found his father's body.
