Suspect Captured By Police, K-9 Search Near Marietta Square

The arrest came after a late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning search.

MARIETTA, GA -- A suspect was apprehended early Thursday morning after an all-night search through Marietta’s Church/Cherokee historic district.

Residents of the area told the AJC that police and their K-9 units tracked a suspect for several hours. Reports are that the suspect had been arrested but escaped police custody while in handcuffs.

No word yet on what led to the suspect’s initial arrest.
