Suspect Identified in Cobb Carjackings That Left One Person Dead
Kristie Renee Nesby is in jail after police say she attempted several carjackings and was eventually caught in Virginia Highland.

MARIETTA, GA -- Cobb police have identified the woman being held in connection with a series of Wednesday morning carjackings that left one person dead.
Kristie Renee Nesby, 43, is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
Here's what police have figured out so far: Nesby allegedly was driving a green 2006 Ford 500 southbound on Cobb Parkway. Police she she then intentionally left her lane of travel and hit a female pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk. Nesby then is suspected of two committing two separate carjackings. She was armed with a handgun in both incidents.

The Atlanta Police Department took Nesby into custody a short time later near Ponce de Leon Avenue, in front of the Majestic Diner.
Nesby is facing charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, and failure to maintain lane. Police say additional charges are expected to be filed.

The carjackings began around 6:15 am.
Nesby was taken into custody around 8 am Wednesday morning.
Police have confirmed the pedestrian was killed, but have not released the victim's name, pending notification of relatives.
