Theatre classes for ages 2-14

Forefront Arts Children's Theatre is offering theatre classes at The Music Studio in Vinings!

Forefront Arts Children’s Theatre announces a partnership with The Music Studio at Vinings. We will be offering several Theatre classes for ages 2-14 during the fall 2014 semester. Tuesday, 10:30-11:00 am Mommy & Me Creative Dramatics (ages 2-5)
Calling all little performers and the grown-ups who love them! We will sing, dance, and act in class each week! Fun theater games, music, puppetry, crafts, and other creative activities will help students learn to express themselves artistically while working as a team and having fun. Parents and students will also learn a performance piece for our combined Fall Showcase at the end of the semester. Creative Dramatics performance pieces will be selected from classic Broadway shows such as “Annie”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Sound of Music”, “King and I” and “Oklahoma!”

Tuesday, 2:15-3:15 pm Homeschool Musical Theatre: Golden Age of Broadway (K-6th grade)
Students will learn warm-ups, play theatre games, receive training in acting technique, vocal skills, choreography, and theatre etiquette & terminology while rehearsing selections from classic Broadway shows such as “Annie”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Sound of Music”, “King and I”, and “Oklahoma!” Fun theatre games and exercises will be used to promote physical and spatial awareness, teamwork, and confidence. Students will perform in the combined Fall Showcase at the end of the semester.

Wednesday, 5:30-6:30 pm Musical Theatre: Golden Age of Broadway (K-6th)

Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 pm Acting: American Classics (3rd-8th)
Students will work on acting skills including physicality, emotional presentation, projection and enunciation, and character development. Mock auditions will be held and students will be assigned scenes from classic shows such as “Our Town”, “Arsenic and Old Lace”, “You Can’t Take It With You”, and “The Man Who Came to Dinner”. Scenes will be tailored to each student’s ability and maturity. Students will perform in the combined Fall Showcase at the end of the semester.

Saturday, 11:30-12:15 pm Creative Dramatics (ages 3-6)

Forefront Arts is an educational performing arts program and Children’s Theatre company with 20+ locations throughout metro-Atlanta. We believe that experience in the performing arts provides students with many valuable life skills including self-confidence, resourcefulness, teamwork and self-control. Our desire is that our students not only develop a love for the arts through our classes and productions but that they also develop their confidence, imagination and leadership skills.

Our instructors are all professional actors with degrees in Theatre/Musical Theatre. They have a combined total of 35 years experience teaching and directing kids and teens, are passionate about their craft, and love working with kids! Our instructors have all passed extensive background checks as well.

Enrollment is offered for fall session, or for the entire school year. Tuition discounts are offered for year-long enrollment, additional classes, and siblings.
