One Dead, Two Injured in Friday Afternoon Crash in Marietta
The accident happened at Delk Road and Highway 41. A one-year-old child was injured in the rollover crash.

Marietta, GA -- A woman who was thrown from her vehicle Friday afternoon in a rollover crash on Delk Road has died from her injuries.
Police say Ashleigh Smith, 22, of Marietta, was thrown from her grey 1998 Ford Explorer as she was driving eastbound on Delk Road, near the Cobb Parkway overpass.
For reasons unknown, Smith abruptly steered to the left and, while attempting to regain control, she overcorrected, causing the vehicle to spin counterclockwise.

The SUV then went into the road's center grass median, tripped on the curb and barrel rolled through the median. The vehicle came to a stop on its roof in two westbound Delk Road lanes.
Smith was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Scottie Rosser, 25, also of Marietta, was in the front seat of the SUV. He was also taken to Wellstar with non-life threatening injuries. Smith's one-year-old son was in the backseat and suffered non life-threatening injuries. He is recovering at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital.
