Uber Driver Accused Of Rape Arrested In Cobb

He had two passengers in his vehicle at the time of the arrest, according to Cobb County Police.

MARIETTA, GA — An Uber driver wanted on multiple counts of rape and sexual battery out of Tennessee has been arrested after a routine traffic stop in Cobb County.

At about 4 p.m. Sunday, a Cobb County Police officer made a traffic stop on a black Jeep Patriot driven by Kevin Emmanuel Jerome, 24, of Atlanta. There were two foreign citizens in the Jeep at the time, according to police.

While investigating, police say they discovered that Jerome was wanted out of Greene County, Tennessee, on two counts of attempted rape, two counts of sexual battery and three counts of aggravated burglary.

Police took him into custody and the two passengers were detained as well, until it was determined that they were simply Uber customers who had no other connection to Jerome. They were later released at the scene.
