ATLANTA - Vxtra Partners announced today that Elizabeth Gordon has been named Vice President of Operations for the Atlanta-based company, a strategic consulting firm that works with physician practices to retain their independence by controlling employee health insurance costs.

“Elizabeth is a dynamic leader who always puts the customer first,” said Larry Hightower, founder and CEO of Vxtra. “She will lead and grow our company in an ever-changing healthcare climate where physicians face the same challenges as many businesses – managing the costly expense of employee healthcare.

Across the country, physicians are facing a host of challenges to retain their independent medical practices, including the skyrocketing cost of employee healthcare. A survey released last fall by the Physician Advocacy Institute found that 38 percent of physicians are now employed by hospitals or hospital systems. That same report found a 50 percent increase in the number of physician practices acquired by hospitals from 2012 to 2015.
Gordon is a graduate of Troy University in Montgomery, Ala., where she obtained her Bachelors of Science degree. She and her husband Kenneth reside in Smyrna, GA.
