On March 10, Chestnut and Damarius Thompson were allegedly breaking into a work truck owned by Josh Richey which was parked outside the “Murder Kroger.” When Richey tried to stop the suspects from damaging or stealing his property, he was shot and killed.

Surveillance camera footage of the parking lot captured a black BMW with tinted windows which was described by witnesses as the getaway vehicle. A tip from Crime Stoppers led police to the BMW, which led them to Thompson.

Thompson was arrested on March 26 and has been charged with murder and felony murder.
