• Susie King Taylor Museum, Freedom Park added to National Park Service network (thecurrentga.org) — Midway’s Susie King Taylor Freedom Park at Jones Creek has just been added to the National Park Service’s Reconstruction Era National Historic Network, bringing national recognition to this local waterfront site. The county park, open daily with rentable pavilions, is also grappling with boat-ramp complaints, racially-tinged pushback over its new name, and recent vandalism that prompted new security cameras and temporary signage.
