• UPDATE: Lakeshore Estate's Neighborhood Fall Yard Sales rescheduled for Saturday (monroelocal.org) — Lakeshore Estates neighbors in Monroe have rescheduled their big fall neighborhood yard sale to this Saturday, Sept. 19, starting at 8 a.m. at 404 Lakeshore Drive. After last week's washout, residents can expect a full morning of sales throughout the subdivision, with details and any updates shared on the neighborhood's Facebook page.
   

• Monroe council approves annex, rezone for Dycom project (monroelocal.org) — Monroe residents will see a major new Dycom Industries training and retreat facility move forward after the City Council unanimously approved annexation and rezoning for nearly 50 acres off U.S. 78 and Jim Daws Road. The $30 million project is already under construction, promises significant training activity, and is expected to boost local businesses such as caterers once it opens next spring.
