Walton Crime Watch: Burglar Flees When Homeowner Arrives

Zone 1
Suspicious Person – A subject was observed running away from a residence on Old Hwy 81. The subject was suspected of being inside the residence but ran out when the homeowner arrived.

Entering Auto – A GPS system was reported missing from a vehicle on Brush Creek Drive in the Brush Creek subdivision.

Zone 4
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Appalachee Falls in the Appalachee Falls subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.

Theft – An Xbox was taken from a residence on John Stowe Rd. A suspect has been named.

Zone 5
Theft – A subject is suspected of taking a Stihl hedge trimmer from a property on June Ivey Rd. The subject was described as a heavy-set white male, with dark hair, and driving a Silver Chevrolet Silverado.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on New Hope Church Rd. at Double Springs Church Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. Anthony Bennett was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
