• Man arrested, accused of sexual assault in room at Piedmont Newnan Hospital (fox5atlanta.com) — A patient at Piedmont Newnan Hospital reported being sexually assaulted in her room by a 72-year-old neighbor, leading Coweta County deputies to arrest a registered sex offender with a prior child molestation conviction. Investigators are still examining how he accessed the room and whether the hospital will change visitor security procedures following the incident.
   

• Man wanted for child rape in Georgia, two other states (fox5atlanta.com) — Coweta County authorities in Newnan are working with U.S. Marshals to find a fugitive accused of raping a 12-year-old girl locally and facing additional child sex charges in Oregon and Wisconsin. Investigators say he fled after posting bond and may still be in the U.S., and they're urging anyone with tips to contact the Marshals' tip line.
