Georgia Methodist Conference Agrees to Simpsonwood Sale
Report: The $16 million agreement includes $14 million from Gwinnett County, $2 million from Peachtree Corners.

The future of Simpsonwood Conference Center and Retreat property in Peachtree Corners is now much clearer.
The Gwinnett Daily Post reported that the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church has accepted a $16 million offer for the 227 acres from Gwinnett County and the City of Peachtree Corners.
Most of the money for the sale — $14 million — was approved by county commissioner earlier this month. The Post said $2 million will come from Peachtree Corners.

The property will be used as a passive park and be added to the Gwinnett County Park System, the newspaper reported.

The conference decided last month to empower its Board of Trustees to complete the sale, and to preserve a chapel, chimney and artifacts located on the property.
“It will now be a pleasant place for the enjoyment of the Peachtree Corners and Gwinnett community for many years to come,” a Conference spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday, according to the Post.
