Three men from Nigeria were staying at the hotel during a visit to the area to see family and friends when they bumped into an old friend at a club during the evening of March 15. The three men went back to the hotel after the club and were asleep when the friend came knocking on the door.
One of the men told police the friend arrived with a female and wanted to come into the room. The man said the group was going to leave in the morning to drive to New York and did not want them to come in.
The man said the friend tried to force himself into the room, but was pushed out into the hallway, where the two fought.
The friend, who told police he is from West Yorkshire, England, and was also in town visiting, said the room tenant was the aggressor. He said he was invited in the room and was then attacked. Police said he would not go into details regarding the incident.
“Due to conflicting stories and lack of witness, I was unable to determine the primary aggressor,” the officer wrote in the incident report.
No charges were filed, and all parties agreed to leave the hotel.
