Floyd County Approves Lindale Sidewalk Improvements and Grant Applications (coosavalleynews.com) — Floyd County commissioners just approved SPLOST‑funded sidewalk and accessibility upgrades in Lindale and formalized a grant partnership with the City of Rome Police Department that adjusts the budget without extra local cost. They also backed new road management services, authorized several grant applications, rezoned property in Cave Spring, and appointed Stanley Strack to the Rome Floyd Planning Commission through 2031.

Georgia Business Focus: Georgia earns top ranking; Pirelli plans $1.2B expansion (41nbc.com) — Pirelli is investing $1.2 billion to massively expand its Rome tire plant, promising about 1,000 new jobs and advanced manufacturing over the next decade. State officials also warn residents to avoid unlicensed door‑to‑door pest control operators, while big retailers like Kohl's and Aldi roll out significant fall discounts that could ease grocery and holiday budgets.

ATL: Power hour (ajc.com) — Buried in this statewide morning roundup is big news for Rome: Italian tiremaker Pirelli plans to expand its Rome operations, adding about 1,000 jobs and nearly quintupling its state workforce.
