Intro to Sushi Making

Roll into the world of sushi making! Join us in the studio for an interactive, hands-on masterclass where you’ll demystify the art of Japanese sushi preparation. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a sushi lover wanting to skip the restaurant bill, this class will give you all the confidence and techniques you need to host your own sushi night at home!

Under the guidance of our chef instructor, you’ll learn the secrets behind preparing perfect sushi rice, handling sushi-grade raw fish safely, and mastering the rolling mats. You’ll practice making iconic rolls from scratch and hand-shaping delicate nigiri before sitting down to enjoy your creations alongside chilled sake!

What You’ll Learn & Make:🥢

  • Sushi Rice Mastery: Learn how to cook, season, and cool short-grain sushi rice for the ultimate texture and balance.
  • Knife & Fish Prep: Discover the basics of sourcing sushi-grade seafood, knife angles, and proper handling technique.
  • California Roll: Master the traditional roll (Uramaki) featuring real crab/surimi, creamy avocado, and crisp cucumber wrapped in nori.
  • Spicy Tuna Roll: Learn how to mix a flavorful, balanced spicy tuna filling and roll it tightly with precision.
  • Raw Salmon Nigiri: Practice the delicate art of hand-shaping seasoned rice pads (Nigiri) topped with beautifully sliced, fresh raw salmon.

  • You will work with other students in groups of 4, sharing workstations and equipment.
  • Classes are 2 hours, unless otherwise noted above
