Cause of Death Released in Woman's Murder
Karen L. LaForge, a Johns Creek resident, was found dead Jan. 17 outside a home on Tyson Circle in Roswell.

ROSWELL, GA -- The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has released the cause of death for the Johns Creek woman found dead last week outside a Roswell home.
An investigator with the agency told Patch that Karen Lee LaForge, 53, died from ligature strangulation and blunt force trauma to the head.
LaForge was found dead around 1:30 p.m. Jan. 17 outside a home in the 500 block of Tyson Circle, which is located off Old Alabama Road.

Roswell police previously told Patch the death is being investigated as a homicide. Officers were notified of the death when a person inside the home called 911, the agency said.
LaForge, who attended Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, was a "devoted mother" who loved to cook, her obituary states. She was also loved photography, shopping, animals and the outdoors.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at Perimeter Church. Another service will be held in her hometown of Keene, New Hampshire on Jan. 28.
LaForge is survived by her children, Evan Michael LaForge; Benjamin Thomas LaForge; and Grace Maryah LaForge; parents, Bruce and Patricia Hill; brother, Kevin Hill; and former husband, Michael LaForge.
