Driver Charged With DUI After Sideswiping Roswell Police Car
An officer had the vehicle parked on Holcomb Bridge Road to assist the Roswell Fire Department when the collision occurred.

ROSWELL, GA -- A driver was arrested and charged after allegedly sideswiping a Roswell police car early Wednesday morning. The officer was assisting the Roswell Fire Department, and was blocking two eastbound lanes of Holcomb Bridge Road as part of the aid efforts.
The vehicle, which had its emergency lights activated, was hit around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 11 by a driver traveling eastbound, said Roswell police spokesperson Lisa Holland.
The driver, identified as Roswell resident Zachary Fritz Hanson, 35, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, violating the state's Move Over Law and failure to maintain lane, Holland added (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Roswell's incident comes about two weeks after a motorist rear-ended an Alpharetta officer sitting in a fully-marked patrol vehicle around 4:30 a.m. Sept. 28 on GA-400 at Mansell Road.
Officer Jomo Bent and the driver, identified as Ceijai Broughton, were both transported to an area hospital to be treated for injuries. Broughton was charged with driving under the influence, following too closely and violating Georgia's Move Over Law.
