Family Of Slain Teen Donates $25K To Roswell Police (ICYMI)

The family of Natalie Henderson announced the donation during the City Council's March 26 meeting.

ROSWELL, GA — The family of a Roswell teenager who was murdered nearly two years ago behind a grocery store has recognized the city's police department for its efforts to bring their child's killer to justice.

Natalie Henderson's family has donated $25,000 to the Roswell Police Department, a move that was unveiled at the Roswell City Council's March 26 meeting.

City documents indicate the donation was made to "recognize the professionalism and compassion demonstrated by the members of the Police Department during the Henderson investigation."

Henderson, a rising senior at Roswell High School, and rising River Ridge High School senior Carter Davis of Woodstock were killed Aug. 1, 2017, behind the Publix grocery store in Roswell. Jeffrey Andrew Hazelwood, also a Roswell resident, was arrested and charged two days after the killings. Hazelwood pleaded guilty to both murders and was sentenced to life without parole.

Henderson's mother, Suzanne, told the City Council that her family "can't begin to thank the Roswell Police Department enough" for its work on the case.

"They truly are the ultimate professionals," she said.
