Former Rotary Club of Roswell President Runs For State House

McCleary on Monday qualified to run in the special election to fill the Georgia House District 48 seat, which is vacant due to the passing of former State Rep. Harry Geisinger. He joins Roswell City Council member Betty Price, who also qualified on Monday for the seat.
“I believe that we are all called to a purpose,” he said. “For me, my passion is helping others. Whether through being involved in the Roswell Rotary Club’s Roswell Memorial Day Committee or taking WWII veterans on Honor Air trips to DC or working to end human trafficking and advocating for anti-bullying and anti-human trafficking legislation to protect our children, there is no greater way in making a difference than through serving others.”

Qualifying in the race ends at noon Wednesday, June 3 for the July 14 special election. A run-off election, if needed, has been scheduled for Aug. 11.
McCleary served as president of the Rotary Club of Roswell in 2010. He’s been a member of the club since 2002.
Along with his civic leadership and advocacy for legislation, McCleary said he’s a committed conservative ”who has worked to elect principled, conservative candidates to all levels of office.”
He’s a graduate of the former Coverdell Leadership Institute. He’s also served as state co-chair of Herman Cain’s presidential campaign, 6th Congressional District co-chair for Johnny Isakson’s 2004 and 2010 Senate campaigns and the Fulton County co-chair for Rep. Tom Price’s 2006 campaign and Senator David Perdue’s campaign.
He also served as co-chair of Geisinger’s grassroots campaign, an initiative he started in 2004.
“I greatly respected Harry and his work ethic,” he added. “I am glad to have called him friend and mentor. It would be a real honor to serve and work hard for the people of my community, District 48.”
McCleary and wife Pam are 25 year residents of Roswell. They are the parents of two Roswell High School graduates. and are active members of North Point Community Church.
