GA-400 Ramp Work Starts Sunday in Roswell

ROSWELL, GA -- The Georgia Department of Transportation will kick off roadwork Sunday evening at GA-400 and Holcomb Bridge Road.

The work, which will entail making improvements to the exit ramp from southbound S.R. 400 onto Holcomb Bridge Road and the entrance ramp from eastbound Holcomb Bridge Road onto S.R. 400 south, will kick off after 9 p.m. Oct. 23.

Crews will be working 24/7, but lane closures will only occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and will be limited during the day on Saturdays and Sundays.

This Georgia DOT-funded operational improvement will add a second right-turn lane from the southbound GA-400 exit ramp onto westbound Holcomb Bridge Road.

The southbound on-ramp shoulder will be improved, and the existing median will be extended by roughly 150 feet.

The project will also modify the small concrete island at westbound Holcomb Bridge Road and Old Dogwood Road (entrance to Waffle House) to convert the rightmost lane from a right turn only lane into a shared through/right-turn lane.

The expected date of completion for this project is April 2017, weather permitting.
