Group Raising Funds To Expand Sweet Apple Park In Roswell
The Sweet Apple Fields project hopes to landscape the area between the park and Sweet Apple Elementary School.
ROSWELL, GA -- Organizers behind a bid to expand Roswell's Sweet Apple Park are hoping you will help them in their quest to provide a safe place where children can play.
The Sweet Apple Fields project would landscape the property between the existing park and Sweet Apple Elementary School.
The project has a budget of $250,000. The city of Roswell has committed to donating $100,000 and World Harvest Church, which is located nearby, has said it will donate $50,000, said Carla Renshaw, a board member of High Hope Community Development Corp., the group that's serving as project administrator.

Renshaw said about $100,000 in donations are needed to jump-start the project, which she said has been a slow-going effort so far.
Renshaw said the expansion would not be just for Sweet Apple Elementary School students, but the entire community, as the project would provide additional field space for everyone to enjoy.
