Hagan Family Pledges $150,000 To Child Development Association

Bob Hagan and his family hopes their five-year campaign will encourage others to donate and generate $300,000 for the organization.

ROSWELL, GA -- Longtime Child Development Association board member Bob Hagan and his children have pledged $150,000 over five years to raise awareness and support for early childhood education.

The CDA and the Hagan family, including children Chad and Brooke, hope their gift encourages others to donate and generate a total of $300,000.

“My family and I are delighted to be a part of this exciting time for the CDA," Bob Hagan said. "We believe strongly in the mission of the organization and want to support their efforts in affording all children the opportunity to be successful in school and in life."

The Hagan Family Challenge will match dollar-for-dollar $100 or more from new donors, any donation $1,000 or more, and pledges of $250 for five years. The challenge lets the CDA double its impact on scholarships for children to attend the center.

“Nearly 30 percent of children are starting elementary school without a preschool educational experience," said Maggie DeCan, CEO & executive director for the CDA. "Our mission is to prepare children from across north Fulton county to be ready for kindergarten by age 5. Studies show children from high-quality preschools are far more likely to be successful in kindergarten, read at grade level in third grade, graduate from high school and go to college.”
