Henry Claims Victory in Roswell Special Election
Lori Henry and Marie Willsey battled in the April 18 special election runoff to fill the vacant Post 4 seat on the City Council.

ROSWELL, GA -- Months after a former elected official had to resign following his arrest on child sex charges, Roswell voters finally have a fully-seated City Council.
Voters in the April 18 special election runoff have chosen Lori Henry to fill the Post 4 seat vacated by Kent Igleheart when he resigned following his November 2016 arrest.
Unofficial election results from the Georgia Secretary of State's office show Henry won the race with 58 percent, or 10,601 votes compared to fellow challenger Marie Willsey's 42 percent, or 7,738 votes.

Both Henry and Willsey garnered enough votes in the March special election to advance to the runoff.
Both candidates also got the support from a divided City Council, with Council members Mike Palermo and Marcelo Zapata backing Henry while Mayor Jere Wood joined Council members Nancy Diamond and Donald Horton in their support of Willsey.
Council member Jerry Orlans never publicly declared which candidate he supported in the race.
