Are you ready for another round of picks?
North Forsyth at : Centennial’s turnaround could hit three wins in a row with a victory over the Raiders. But as we have learned this season, anything can happen in Region 6-AAAAA. Centennial is 3-4 overall, but 2-1 in region standings and still has a shot (although a long shot) to challenge for the top spot. But that would likely require the Knights to win out, including a win over Alpharetta next week, and hope West Forsyth loses one its last two games. Still, the Knights appear to be in good shape to reach the postseason. North Forsyth is 1-6 overall, 1-2 in the region and still not out of the playoff picture. Interesting tidbit: Both teams have beaten last-place Roswell by narrow margins; Centennial beat the Hornets 32-30; North Forsyth won 24-21. Centennial 28, North Forsyth 17.
at Northview: There is no such thing as the “best 0-7 team in the state,” but winless Roswell might have an argument that despite its struggles it’s not as bad as the record indicates. Three of the Hornets’ losses are by a field goal or less, including two of their three Region 6-AAAAA losses. Northview (2-6) could also argue that it’s better than people think. The Titans have shown they can score (26.6 points per game) and they’re clearly improved over last year’s 1-9 team. Northview is 0-3 against Roswell. By Saturday it’ll be 1-3. Northview 28, Roswell 24.
at Therrell (Grady Stadium): If you haven’t noticed, Blessed Trinity is in first place. , put the Titans (4-3, 3-0 in the subregion) in the driver’s seat for the top seeding in Region 6-AA, Division B. With wins over Lovett and Westminster already in the book, the Titans close out their league schedule against teams in the bottom half of the standings. Therrell (1-6, 1-2) certainly isn’t standing in the Titans' way. Blessed Trinity 31, Therrell 14.
Southwest Atlanta at : After consecutive losses to Mt. Pisgah and Holy Innocents’, the Fellowship Christian Paladins (3-4) could use a break. That may come this week against a Southwest Atlanta team (1-6) that has lost three straight. Fellowship Christian 24, SW Atlanta 13.
