The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office on Monday said the report ”does not show an obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries were noted,” according to its press release.

Brown died Sunday at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga., several months after she was found unresponsive in her Roswell, Ga., home.

The office also said no previously unknown medical conditions have been identified that could have contributed to Brown’s death.

“The time which has elapsed between the initial event on Jan. 31 and her resulting death will complicate reconstruction of the events surrounding her initial unresponsiveness,” the office said. “Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging.”

Additional laboratory testing will be conducted by the Medical Examiner’s office. To accomplish that task, the office stated subpoenas have been issued to gather needed information.

The office does not plan to complete Brown’s death certificate or determine a cause of death until those tests results are completed and all “documentary records are received and thoroughly reviewed.”

That, the office noted, could take several weeks.

Both the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and Roswell police investigators continue to review the case. Lisa Holland, spokesperson with the Roswell Police Department, stated the case is being handled as a “death investigation.”

Yvette Jones, spokesperson with the District Attorney’s Office, stated the case “remains open and under investigation.”

ET Online is reporting that Brown’s funeral will take place this week in Atlanta, and she will be buried in New Jersey next to her mother, the late Whitney Houston.

Brown was discovered unresponsive inside a bathtub the morning of Jan. 31 at her home on Riverbend Manor. Police and fire crews took over life-saving measures once they arrived on the scene, and Brown was transported to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.

She was later moved from North Fulton to Emory Hospital and then to a rehabilitation center. The family’s decision to the hospice facility occurred last month.
