Man Accused of Threatening Teens With Machete

The Alpharetta resident allegedly followed two teenagers to their Roswell home during the road rage incident.

An Alpharetta man has been charged with threatening two teenagers with a machete during a road rage incident.

Roswell officers responded to a home on Saddle Ridge Trce around 7:18 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5 and met with two brothers who said they were involved in a road rage incident with another driver.

Zachary Frommer, a spokesperson with Roswell police, said the brothers were driving along S.R. 140/Houze Road when they noticed another driver was tailgating their vehicle.

The subject went around the brothers’ cars and “there was some sort of exchange of words/gestures,” Frommer said.

The male subject continued to follow the teens, who initially pulled into a Publix parking lot. The teenagers then decided to drive home, and the man continued to follow them, Frommer said.

On the ride home, Frommer said the teens called their parents to inform them of the situation.

“Mom and dad were waiting as they arrived, (and) the subject got out with a machete and made threats,” Frommer said.

Police said the mother recorded the incident on her phone, and the father stepped in to diffuse the situation. The family was able to obtain a tag number on the vehicle and the man, Timothy Brian Foos, 44, eventually turned himself into police.

Foos is charged with one count each of aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
