There are 2,025 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 73 coronavirus-related deaths in Fulton County, as of Friday morning.

NORTH FULTON, GA – There are 2,025 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 73 coronavirus-related deaths in Fulton County, as of Friday morning, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

In Fulton County, these numbers mean there are more than 186.2 positive cases of the coronavirus for every 100,000 people.

SCHOOLS

Gov. Brian Kemp has announced that all K-12 schools in Georgia will remain closed for in-person instruction for the remainder of this school year.

Fulton County Schools said on Monday that the class of 2020 graduating seniors will end their school year on May 1, while all other students will continue until the end of the school year on May 22.

The Fulton Schools School Nutrition Department will update the schedule for next week once it is confirmed. Click here for distribution sites.

HOSPITALS

Emory Healthcare has opened a drive-thru testing site for people suspected of having COVID-19 by appointment only. The site is located at a parking lot in Atlanta. In order to receive an appointment, patients must first utilize Emory's COVID-19 screening tool and call the COVID line at 404-712-6843 for evaluation by the nursing team.

On Thursday, the Georgia Department of Public Health said it is increasing the number of specimen collection sites statewide for coronavirus testing, and is revising the current testing criteria to handle more testing of Georgia residents.

In Fulton County, the Fulton County Board of Health will serve the community, and can be contacted at 404-613-8150.

LONG-TERM FACILITIES

The Georgia Department of Public Health has updated a report that shows coronavirus cases in long-term care facilities based on data provided as of Sunday. The data in the report is contingent on what information has been provided to, and verified by, the Department of Public Health. It is possible that a facility is reporting different numbers to different entities, but unless it has been verified by the Department of Public Health, it will not be included in the weekly report. This report is subject to change.

In north Fulton, there are two long-term facilities in the report:

  • Brookdale Chambrell Roswell, 1000 Applewood Dr., Roswell, GA 30076
    • 1 case
  • Sandy Springs Health And Rehab, 1500 S Johnson Ferry Rd. Ne, Sandy Springs, GA 30319
    • 24 cases
    • 1 death

Fulton County has 10 long-term facilities on the list, including the two in north Fulton.
