Roswell on Thursday held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of its East Alley Pathway project. This unique shopping and dining destination in downtown consists of the L-shaped alley intersecting the west side of Canton Street and the south side of Norcross Street.

The new and improved East Alley will open opportunities for business entrances and add enhanced landscape features and the inclusion of public art to the area, the city of Roswell previously said.

This revamped space boasts the opportunity for retail and dining courtyards and plazas, partial or part-time closure to through traffic offering a walkable space for visitors and a nightlife experience with decorative lighting. This "welcoming new atmosphere will be host to public art, brightening the alley for all to enjoy," the city added.

Improvements to the alley will also upgrade outdated infrastructure and efficient waste disposal, add new lighting and implement environment-friendly infrastructure elements.
