Roswell Joins Sandy Springs Murder-Suicide Investigation
Police say the husband allegedly sent a "concerning text message" to a family member the night of the incident.

Officers with both Roswell and Sandy Springs police departments are on the scene of a home in Roswell to execute a search warrant of the home where the husband in an apparent murder-suicide last resided.
Both agencies are in the process of executing the warrant at 670 Wood Valley Trace following the death of 54-year-old Sharon Wilkins and her husband, Roswell police spokesperson Zachary Frommer said.
Frommer stated the home in Roswell is the last known address of the husband and where the two recently lived together.

“Due to a concerning text message sent to a family member by the husband before the incident in Sandy Springs and in an abundance of caution for the officers executing the search warrant, an explosives sniffing dog is en route to check the house prior to the execution of the warrant,” Frommer stated. ”There is no specific information about any explosives or any danger to anyone in the area at this time.”
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. Aug. 13 at a home at 7545 Chaparral Drive. According to Sandy Springs police, the 911 call made to dispatchers from the victim’s mother noted Wilkins had been shot multiple times and the shooter was still on the scene.
