City leaders will consider a resolution asking the state to change the law to allow Personal Transportation Vehicles on those roads.

Roswell leaders next week will consider a resolution asking the state to amend the Personal Transportation Vehicle law to allow the vehicles on roads with 35 MPH speed limits.
Roswell Mayor Jere Wood and the City Council will consider the resolution during its meeting on Monday, Nov. 10, the city said on Monday.
State law currently allows PTVs, which include golf carts, on streets with speed limits up to 25 miles per hour.

If the state amends the law, Roswell leaders could designate specific roads in the city with speed limits up to 35 MPH on which PTVs would be allowed.
An amendment to the state law would also allow Roswell to designate certain paths as cart paths, allow golf cart access to Canton Street from the surrounding neighborhoods, allow access to existing school zones from surrounding neighborhoods, allow golf carts access to neighborhood commercial centers and remove the limitation of golf carts to only golf-course communities.
