Roswell Wrestling Teams Place Second

The varsity and junior varsity teams placed second last Saturday. The Junior Hornets will head to the mat tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 3.

varsity and junior varsity wrestling teams showed some skill in their debut showing for the 2011-2012 season last weekend at Kennesaw Mountain duals, placing second out of 12 teams.

Losing in the cross over finals to Harrison High School and giving up two slots (195 and HWT), Roswell still came out with a major win over Valdosta in the semifinals. Saturday's team included five freshman - Johnny Bazemore, Brian Slewitzke, Jonathan Kwetang, DeMarco Gatti and Isaiah Hawkins. Brennen Ninesling (junior), Charles Routt (sophomore), Corey Wilson (junior) and Andrew Kwateng (junior) went 5-0.

Harrison (Lost 42 - 33)
Valdosta (Won 54 - 24)
Central-Carrol (Won 52 - 21)
Kennesaw Mountain (Won 54 - 24)
North Cobb (Won 55 - 16)         

Placing second overall, Roswell beat Central, North Cobb, Kennesaw Mountain, Valdosta. The champions, Harrison, beat Gordon Lee, Lithia Springs, Woodstock, Valdosta and Roswell.

The Junior Hornets, elementary and middle school wrestlers, make their 2011-2012 debut at the Centennial Holiday Classic Dec. 3 at .
