Runoff Election For City Council Held Tuesday In Roswell
There will be a runoff Tuesday between Christine Hall and Lisa Holland for the Roswell City Council Post 3 seat.

ROSWELL, GA — Roswell residents will again take to the polls Tuesday for the General Municipal Runoff Election between Christine Hall and Lisa Holland for the Roswell City Council Post 3 seat.
Post 3 did not have an incumbent running, and saw four candidates vying for the seat in November. Christine Hall took 3,827 of votes, and will face Lisa Holland who had 3,530 votes in a runoff. Other candidates, Keith Goeke with 2,002 votes and Kay Howell with 1,727 votes, will not be in the runoff.
Roswell Post 1 incumbent Marcelo Zapata kept his seat with 6,286 votes against opponent Donald Horton's 4,765 votes.

Post 2 incumbent Mike Palermo received 6,815 votes against Geoff Smith's 4,255 votes.
Roswell Municipal Judge Brian Hansford kept his seat with 7,935 votes against competitor Philip Mansell's 2,307 votes.

Out of the 325,889 registered voters in the Nov. 5 Fulton County races, 38,936 voted, or nearly 12 percent.
The Roswell City Council election took place Nov. 5. The election is for the council seats of Post 1, Post 2 and Post 3. All council posts serve at large, which means they represent the whole city and not just one district.

Terms for all municipal offices are four years, with elections being held every two years. This means that three members run at one time with the other three running two years later. The purpose of this provision for staggered terms is to ensure that the council is never completely composed of freshmen members.
