“It’s sad when criminals use a juvenile as an accessory to their crimes,“ the agency said. “Equally disturbing is the fact one of the suspects ran while holding an infant.”

Officers responded to the shoplifting call around 7:55 p.m. Aug. 15, 2015, at Macy’s at 5000 North Point Circle. Officers met with a loss prevention officer, who told police she saw four suspects in the men’s department of the store.

Two suspects -- identified as Suspects 1 and 2 -- were “observed with multiple clothing items and both entered into a men’s fitting room,” according to an incident report released by the agency.

The fourth suspect, who was seen carrying an infant and a diaper bag that “appeared to be empty,” also went into the fitting room.

According to the report, all three suspects were in the fitting room at the same time. The first two suspects then left the room with only one pair of shoes and a T-shirt. Those suspects met up with the third suspect, who served as the lookout.

The trio left the store through the Mansell Road exit while the fourth suspect left the fitting room with the baby and another juvenile male. The diaper bag, according to police, appeared to have increased in size.

Once the fourth suspect, baby and juvenile male leave the store using the Mansell Road exit, they “run into the parking lot where they get into the Black Ford Explorer,” which officers later identified as the getaway vehicle.

According to the report, the suspects were able to make off with Polo shirts and several pairs of pants, all of which had a collective value of $457.

The first suspect is described as a black female between 18 and 30 year sold, between 5’6’’ and 5’10’’ in height and possibly weighs between 150 and 180 pounds. She was wearing a two-toned blue T-shirt with “Polo No. 3” written on the back, camouflage pants and had long black hair in a pony tail.

The three remaining suspects were all reportedly black men, according to police. The second suspect is between 18 and 25 years old, ranging from 5’6’’ to 5’10’’ in height and weighs between 150 and 165 pounds. He was also wearing a blue T-shirt, cargo-style pants, a large yellow necklace and was sporting an Afro-style hair cut at the time of the alleged incident.

The third suspect is between 18 and 30 years old, between 5’7’’ and 6’ tall and weighs 160 to 185 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a red-collared short sleeve shirt, black jeans and had long, braided hair, police state.

The final suspect, who was carrying the infant and diaper bag, is between 30 and 45 years old, 5’8’’ and 6’ in height and possibly weighs between 165 and 185 pounds.

Along with the diaper bag, he was wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans and also had long, braided hair.
