Together Roswell Featured At Gate City Brewing Company Thursday

ROSWELL, GA — Members of the Roswell community are uniting Thursday to help shape the future of the city.

Neighbors, friends and family are invited to Gate City Brewing Company Thursday, July 25 from 6-8 p.m. for an evening of community collaboration sponsored by Gate City Brewing Company, Positively Roswell, Roswell NEXT, Roswell Attorney Project, Roswell Rotary Club, and Historic Roswell Business Association. The objective is to aid the city in developing its first-ever citywide strategic plan.

Come and tell Roswell what you would like to see in the future and be rewarded with the sense of doing your civic duty and a free beer. There will be plenty of giveaways, including tickets to the Roswell Wine Festival, Roswell Beer Festival, and gift certificates to local restaurants. Food will be available for purchase by Gracious Plenty.

A host committee of community partners including Children's Development Academy, Chattahoochee Nature Center, HomeStretch, Friends of the Roswell Parks. Friends of Bulloch Hall, Friends of Mimosa Hall and Gardens, The Drake House - Roswell, Roswell Woman's Club, Historic Roswell Kiwanis, STAR House, Roswell Wine Festival, Roswell Arts Fund, Sunshine on a Ranney Day, and Historic Roswell Beautification Project - HRBP will also be present.

The City of Roswell launched Together Roswell, a robust community-engagement effort to develop Roswell's first-ever citywide strategic plan, in June. Together Roswell is seeking widespread community input throughout the summer months.

The goal of the Together Roswell effort is to develop a strategic plan for the city based on its residents' vision and shared goals. Citizen involvement in the strategic plan is critical to developing a vision for the city's future and a plan to make that vision a reality.

Public input collected throughout the Together Roswell process will serve as the foundation for the strategic plan. Together Roswell is an opportunity for the entire city to pause, take stock and define what Roswell should be and how to get there.

"Planning processes like Together Roswell represent good stewardship. But for the city to know the community's priorities, we must ask them," said Gary Palmer, City Administrator. "This plan will be driven by public engagement and supported by the conclusions drawn from these discussions. It's critical that everyone get involved and help shape the future of Roswell."
