Candidates Step Forward To Qualify For Vacant City Council Seat

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The race to become the next District 3 representative on the Sandy Springs City Council is gaining momentum, as local candidates have formally filed the paperwork needed to qualify for the election.

Brian Eufinger and Susan F. Voyles qualified on Wednesday, April 13, the first day in the three-day qualifying period for the May 24 special election to fill the seat vacated by Graham McDonald.
On Thursday, fellow challengers Christopher Burnett, Joseph Houseman and Lawrence Young all qualified for the race to replace McDonald, who resigned to run for the State House District 52 seat.

Friday, April 15 is the last day to qualify. Candidates can stop by the Sandy Springs City Clerk's office between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to qualify for the race. The office is located at 7840 Roswell Road Building 500 (citizens can use the main Main/Finance entrance).
The fee is $540.
