Another Bank Robbery Reported In Sandy Springs

The suspect handed the teller a note, which threatened violence if he did not get the money he requested.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Detectives with the Sandy Springs Police Department continue their hunt for a bank robbery suspect who targeted an institution located on the tip of the city's panhandle.

An officer with the agency was dispatched around 4:07 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 to SunTrust Bank at 7840 Holcomb Bridge Road.

The officer arrived, and met with bank employees who said the suspect was no longer on the premises.

According to an incident report released by Sandy Springs police, the man walked into the bank, approached a window at the front counter and slipped a hand-written note to the teller.

"The note requested money and threatened violence if money was not provided," the report indicates.

The suspect was given roughly $2,100, and he placed the money in a small bag and left without incident, the report adds.

Witnesses told police they saw the man walk towards River Exchange Drive before he disappeared out of view.

Authorities reviewed surveillance footage inside the bank, and noted the suspect appeared to be a white male between 45 and 55 years old, about 5'8'' tall and weighs around 175 pounds.

He was also sporting white hair and a white goatee, and was wearing a black and tan baseball hat, sunglasses, a tan, short-sleeved button down collared shirt and khaki shorts.
