Reward Increased In Death Of Pedestrian On I-285 In Sandy Springs

Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta has increased the reward to help track down the vehicle and persons responsible for a fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 285 in Sandy Springs.

The organization has bumped up the reward to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those involved in the death of Gayla Joyce Walker, Sandy Springs police said.
Walker, a 53-year-old resident of Dunwoody, was struck and killed Jan. 22 as she walked along I-285 near Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.

Investigators with Sandy Springs police have “exhausted all leads in the case,” the agency said in a press release. The only description given to the agency of the vehicle involved is a large white truck.
That tip, Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon said, “hasn’t been much help thus far.”

Sandy Springs police is a partner with Crime Stoppers of Atlanta. Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS or 404-577-8477. As always, anyone with information does not have to give his or her’s name or any identifying information to be eligible for a cash reward.
Tips can be made online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or texting CSA with tip info to CRIMES (274637). If the information leads to an arrest and indictment, the tipster could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 in this case.
