$10K Raised For Cobb Family Who Suffered Devastating Fire, Loss
While three family members were killed in the July fire, a woman was able to save her 4-year-old nephew by jumping out of a house window.
COBB COUNTY, GA — A Cobb County woman is credited with saving her youngest grandson from a house fire that recently killed three family members.
According to a GoFundMe established for the family, the fire happened on July 26.
Alysia Nichols, a survivor of the fire, told Channel 2 Action News Monday she tried to rescue her 14-year-old daughter but was unable to do so. The outlet reported Nichols' mother and nephew were also inside of the home.

Nichols was able to save her 4-year-old nephew by jumping out of a window, according to Channel 2 and the GoFundMe.
A family member died due to smoke inhalation while a second family member died due to severe burns, according to the GoFundMe. Nichols fractured her back during the escape.

The fundraiser has a $15,000 goal and will help with funeral arrangements and a celebration of life ceremony.
